On his first business trip in a new place, driver Rudo has an accident. A drunken truck driver dented the fender of the tatraplane and drove off while Ruda went to a pub for a beer. His situation looks desperate. He arrives in Prague distraught. But his wife Marie finds a way out. She remembers an old friend and hopes he can help them fix the car before morning. The friend, Plachetka, gets other helpers and the car is finally fixed during the night. Plachetka, his wife, Rabas the painter and Kroupa the plumber all lend a helping hand to the couple. Rudo's place is saved. The friendship, willingness and understanding of a few individuals has done a good job.

Pavel Gromov is the first mate on a Russian scientific ship. Pavel"s pregnant girlfriend Lena is sailing with him. The young people plan to get married after the expedition. It turns out that Pavel's friend Gleb who is a chief engineer on the same ship has been hopelessly in love with Lena. During the expedition Somalian pirates attack the ship. Gleb decides to take a chance and get rid off his rival.

The film, which opens with students arriving at a police academy, is a crazy comedy that is more a series of zany episodes and jokes than a coherent story. They are linked by a simple plot in which the commander of the police academy, Major Maisner, searches among his recruits for an alleged FBI spy and, after a not-so-subtle practical joke, gets into a dispute with his subordinate, a dispute that ends in a genuine bank robbery.
